Crop Pest Control (PPP)

There is no other neem-kernel extract of equivalent quality available on the market. This is an emulsifiable oil-based formulation of Neem extract used as a foliar spray. Many years of its use in EU countries has indicated this foliar spray is highly effective in controlling pests. It acts systemically in plants, and is a poor contact insecticide therefore only toxic to pests. It is readily taken up by plant roots. This suggests that it will be effective in hydroponic systems.

NeemCo has also developed a pelleted version, which is currently under trial in Germany and Scotland, and which has been previously shown to be highly effective against soil-dwelling pests (e.g. cabbage root fly) as well as foliar. Another line of development might be to exploit the fact that various beneficials are unaffected. At the moment, NeemCo are engaged in a joint project to assess the advantages of nematodes and neem in plant protection. Initial results are very encouraging.
