We are a strongly science-led company developing natural pest control products in a variety of sectors. The common factors are that they are: effective, safe for all except the pests, show no resistance, are benign in the environment, and naturally-derived and organic.
We are dedicated to the development of safe, effective and environmentally friendly products based upon extracts from the Neem tree (Azadirachtca indica).
At Neemco all products are firmly based on scientific research in collaboration with institutions such as the University of Glasgow, University of the West of Scotland, University of Edinburgh, London School of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene, and the Scottish Agricultural College.

Neem extracts have been available as pesticides for about 20 years, and
are widely used in Europe and North America. The great strength of neem
extracts is that they are highly effective against invertebrate pests,
and innocuous to mammals, including humans. The timing of the project is
excellent as most of the pesticides currently in use have caused
serious social and environmental repercussions, and many are being
banned, leaving a gap to be filled by plant-derived compounds.
Insecticides derived from plants are ecologically desirable and often
economically advantageous.
Neem has proven claims to be effective against a variety of human and animal health issues.
By understanding the exact mode of action NeemCo has been able to develop effective and targeted products.
"Neem" is a very wide term that is applied to a variety of extracts from
several types of tree. "Neem" or "azadirachtin" is extracted from
different parts of the tree using a variety of extraction methods. The
method of extraction is key to ensuring that there is a consistent
quantity of active ingredient.
Consistency of active ingredient and a detailed understanding of extraction is key to developing products
The
last, and critical part, of bringing a product to market is the ability
to create the dossiers required to gain product approvals.
NeemCo, with its sister company, have conducted over 1000 trials in
order to gain various approvals for its patented extracts for use on
crops, farm animals, pets, and beyond. It is approved for food use.
So, thinking that "neem works" is only 1% of the journey to a product.
